While there are 10 different trims for you to choose from in the 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan, we are going to look at mostly non-4MOTION trims. That means we will look at the S, SE, SEL, SEL R-Line Black, SEL Premium with 4MOTION, and SEL R-Line Premium w/4MOTION. This way, we hope you’ll be able to get a better understanding of which model might suit you more as you drive in and near Washington D.C. Let’s check it out.
We’ll compare the first 3 trims to begin. That is, the S, SE, and SEL. All of these trims are capable, hard-working, and comfortable to drive in. But what sets them apart from each other? That is what we are here to find out. We are going to check out the technology features you can find on your Tiguan S, SE, and SEL. After we're done, we'll check out the other trims.

As you can see, there are plenty of options for you to choose from. Want a keyless ignition, but don’t really care about adaptive cruise control? Try the SE. Want all the nifty technologies? Go for the SEL. Just want a reliable, spacious vehicle? The Tiguan S is a great choice. All of these models have a solid 184 horsepower and 221 lb.-ft. of torque, courtesy of the 2.0-Liter 4-cylinder Turbo engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission. One thing you’ll find is the available and standard technology features. Navigation is standard on the SEL, but unavailable on these S and SE trims. This is the same for Adaptive Cruise Control and Parking Assist. Similarly, the keyless Ignition is standard on the SE and SEL, but not available on the S trim.
These are just a few of the differences you can see between the Volkswagen S, SE, and SEL. If you are looking for more information, we encourage you to contact your favorite Volkswagen dealer, Sheehy Volkswagen of Springfield.

Like their lower-trim counterparts, the SEL R-Line Black, SLE Premium with 4MOTION, and SEL Premium R-Line w/4MOTION have their own perks and drawbacks. Among these perks are Bluetooth and navigation, both of which are standard on all 3 trims we are looking at. However, there are a few differences, such as the leather upholstery on the 2 higher trims. While the SEL R-Line Black has leatherette upholstery, like the SE and SEL. If you are looking for a 3rd row in your SUV, then you’l want to choose one of the higher trims, such as the SEL Premium w/4MOTION and the SEL Premium R-Line w/4MOTION.
