There’s no denying the distinct look that the 2026 Volkswagen Tiguan achieves, but there’s more to its exterior than just design. Frost and snow won’t be as big of an issue with the standard heated sideview mirrors. These also come with available VW logo puddle lights that can illuminate the ground around the car when you need to find your way back in at night. During grocery runs, you can access the rear storage area with the available hands-free Easy Open and Easy Close liftgate that can detect your presence. If your passengers in the back want to enjoy some cloud watching while you drive down Route 29, then feel free to open up the available panoramic sunroof. You’ll also be carried high above the road with the available 20-inch alloy wheels turning beneath your feet.
Performance
In addition to the style, there’s plenty of strength to be found inside of the 2026 Tiguan. Thanks to the standard 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine sitting beneath the hood of the car, you’ll have up to 201 horsepower and 221 lb.-ft. of torque coursing through the system when you press on the gas pedal. Are you in need of additional strength? Feel free to upgrade to the SEL R-Line trim, which holds the available 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that can produce up to 268 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. In either case, you won’t have to worry about changing gears since the standard 8-speed automatic transmission can keep you at the correct one. Lastly, the standard engine start-stop system can give the powertrain longevity since it turns it off when it's not in use.
